My Story
I'm a UX Architect working in the DFW area. My interests include UX, Design, Photography, and Animation. I entered the UX world after several years in the animation/design background. Over the years, I learned many elements of design from previous experiences and how to apply those aspects in the business world.
After graduating with my MBA from Saint Edwards University in Austin, TX, I found my passion in UX. My fascination of UX is the incorporation of my prior design experiences combined with business principles I learned during my MBA program. I believe this leads to a deeper understanding of UX with strong ties to design, interaction and fulfillment of user needs.

Designing with Innovation in Mind
In today’s world, technology is at the forefront and continues to evolve every day. This is the best time to be a designer in the product industry and more so, designing with innovation in mind. But what does this mean? The traditional way of designing and developing products are over. In order to design for the new digital age, we need to be able to quickly create a proof-of-concept (PoC) and be able to fail fast. It’s easy to get stuck in a repeat cycle of building because we can, instead of building with intent in mind.
This is why I love the process of: focus groups, user testing, and using analytics to really understand a user’s needs and building a product based on what is best for the end user. Does this product actually help the intended audience? Can we make this product better? How can we make improvements by utilizing the latest and great tech? These are the questions I like to lead with when I sit down with the stakeholders during the ideation phase of a product.
Working together
Collaboration is key! After my experiences of working at agencies and for big corporations, the one pattern that often leads to a product failure is when there is no synergy within the organization. The most successful projects I’ve been involved in is where there is an open environment where UX, Design, Tech, and Project Managers work closely together so that everyone has a clear understanding of what, why, and when a product needs to be built. Defining these measures at the beginning of a project helps keep the end goal in mind.
Once the project has started, the product life cycle should include all the disciplines that will be involved in the creation of the product. Putting our egos to the side while still being the subject matter expert during the white boarding sessions and development cycle lead to creating the best possible experiences for our consumers.
Let’s work together to create the next app, website or digital platform that leaves a lasting impression on our users!
